ஆடிப்பெருக்கு

தமிழ் வருடங்கள் 60. தமிழ் மாதங்கள் 12. இதில் ஒவ்வொரு மாதத்திற்கும் ஒவ்வொரு சிறப்பு உண்டு. பல மாதங்களுக்கு பழமொழிகளும் உண்டு.

தை பிறந்தால் வழி பிறக்கும், புரட்டாசியில் மண் உருக மழை பெய்யும், பொன் உருக வெயில் காயும், ஆடிப்பட்டம் தேடி விதை என்று பல மொழிகள் உள்ளன.

ஆடி-18 தமிழகத்தில் ஆடிப்பெருக்கு என்ற விழாவாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. காவிரி தொடும் ஊர்களில் எல்லாம், இன்றைக்குக் கொண்டாட்டம். சுழித்தோடும் காவிரியில் கால் நனைத்து, இயற்கைக்கும் இறைவனுக்கும் நன்றி செலுத்தி குடும்பத்தோடு காவிரியை வரவேற்கும் நாள்.

இந்த நாளில் நதிகளில் நீர்ப் பெருக்கு அதிகரிக்கும் என்பது நம்பிக்கை. அந்த நாளில், நதிக்கரை மற்றும் கடற்கரைகளில் குடும்பத்தினருடன் அமர்ந்து இரவு உணவு உண்பதும் மரபாக இருந்து வந்துள்ளது. புதிதாக திருமணமான புதுமணத் தம்பதிகள் நதிக்கரையில் நிலாச் சோறு சாப்பிடுவார்கள்.

ஆடி மாதம் என்பது விவசாயிகளுக்கும் உகந்த மாதமாகும். விவசாயிகள் தங்கள் பணிகளை இந்த மாதத்தில்தான் துவக்குவார்கள். ஆடிப்பட்டம் தேடி விதை என்ற பழமொழியும் இதனால்தான் உருவாயிற்று.

There has been a considerable increase in the average temperature of earth in the past century. This rise in temperature is attributed to the effects of global warming brought about by the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This phenomenon is called Global Warming. The effects of global warming are numerous. The main culprits in the issue are excessive discharge of green house gases in the atmosphere.

Global Warming Facts - How does it affect you?

The green house gases like carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide are playing hazards in the present times. These green house gases trap heat in earth’s atmosphere and thus result in increasing the temperature of earth. The excessive emission of these gases is one of the major Causes of Global Warming. The major source of carbon dioxide is the power plants. These power plants emit large amounts of carbon dioxide produced from burning of fossil fuels for the purpose of electricity generation.

The global warming has led to increase in mean earth surface temperature and thus melting of polar ice. There are frequent melt down of glaciers that result in floods and other natural calamities. The melting of ice at the poles had led the mean sea level. And further increase in temperature may further melt the ice and lead to further increase in mean sea level, which will engulf low lying countries.
